Taxi Training
Countywide offers practical Taxi training for potential Hackney Carriage & Private Hire drivers to persons over the age of 21 years in the East Sussex area.
4 Hour Fast Track Taxi Training Course - £80
Conducted over 2 days with 2 taught hours per day.
You will be required to pass a Driving Standards Agency Driving Test. This test is slightly more difficult than a learner driving test and as such looks for a more experienced driving level.
During the test you will be asked to carryout 2 driving manoeuvres in which you will be asked to turn the car around in the road by whatever means you consider safest in order to pickup a passenger. You will choose the first and then the examiner will choose and ask you to carry out a second manoeuvre.
On a number of occasions you will also be asked to pull up at the side of the road as if to pick up or drop off a passenger.
At the end of the test you will be asked questions on the Highway Code and taxi related information.
You will also be required to
• An application to the Criminal Records Bureau
• Pass a medical
• Pass a Taxi knowledge test
